When we first saw the specifications for the GTX 1660 Super, we didn’t know what to make of it. The 75% increase in memory bandwidth is huge, but ultimately if the GPU wasn’t memory starved to begin with, that would just end up being a big number on paper that wouldn’t translate into meaningful gains in the real world.
Performance Summary
Admittedly the new GeForce GTX 1660 Super looks much better in a number of games than we were expecting. There were a few titles with meaningless gains, but overall the results look very positive.
Let’s have a look at the average frame rates across all 17 games tested at 1080p…
Here we see that the new GTX 1660 Super delivered 88 fps on average across the entire range of games tested. That made it 10% faster than the base model 1660 and just 6% slower than the 1660 Ti. Given it costs just 4% more than the 1660 and 22% less than the 1660 Ti, that seems like a good result.
At times the 1660 Super was able to match the GTX 1070, but overall it was a tad slower. Still it is 13% faster than the RX 590, which will put them within striking distance on a cost-per-frame basis.

3. AMD Radeon RX 6600 8 GB Graphic Card

Paper specs don’t always match up with real-world performance, so we’ll have to see how the RX 6600 fares against its main competition — which includes not just the RTX 3060 and RX 6600 XT, but also previous generation cards like the RTX 2060, RTX 2060 Super, and RX 5600 XT.
Considering this card replaces the previous generation RX 5600 XT, it’s unfortunate that generational pricing has gone up quite a bit, but then there’s no sense in expecting AMD to launch at a price that few people will ever see. Again, we hope there will actually be a fairly decent supply of RX 6600 cards, both for the initial launch and going forward.
Performance Summary
The Radeon RX 6600 doesn’t have any surprises for us as performance was as expected and pretty linear when compared to the XT model launched two months prior. Let’s move on to check out the average performance seen across the dozen game sample…
At 1080p, the standard RX 6600 is on average 14% slower than the XT version which is in line with the price cut. Essentially, you’re looking at RX 5700 or RTX 2070 levels of performance, which is decent overall, but weak in terms of progress.

Here’s a look at how the Radeon RX 5700 XT and GeForce RTX 2060 Super stack up across all 33 games tested at 1440p. As you can see, three years later the 5700 XT still has the 2060 Super’s number, beating it on average by a 13% margin.
There was just a single game where the 5700 XT lost by more than 5%, but 24 cases where it was faster than 5%. In 8 games the Radeon was faster by 20% or more.
