Airtel has announced a new video streaming service called Xstream Premium, which is available in India. Users will be able to access over 15 different over-the-top streaming services using this service, which will be accessible through a single app. Customers of Airtel would be the only ones who will be allowed to use it. The service is, of course, not free, and one will be forced to pay a fee to become a member of the service.
The Airtel Xstream Premium service is available for Rs 149 per month, with an annual subscription costing Rs 1,499. Although Airtel claims that consumers have access to dozens of over-the-top entertainment app alternatives, customers often find themselves juggling many applications and subscriptions at the same time. As a result, it decided to provide its clients with a solution that allows them to access content from many platforms in a single location with a single subscription.
With a single app, a single subscription, a single sign-in, unified content search, and AI-driven individualized curation for each customer, the telecom operator claims to provide a “wonderful experience.” The Airtel Xstream Premium service will be available on mobile phones, tablets, and computers via the Airtel Xstream app or the web, as well as on television via the Xstream set-top box.
A total of 10,500 films and television programs, as well as live channels, are claimed to be available through the new service, which includes content from companies such as SonyLIV, ErosNow, Lionsgate Play, Hoichoi, ManoramaMax, Shemaroo, Ultra, HungamaPlay, EPICon, DivoTV, Klikk, Nammaflix, Dollywood, and Shorts TV, according to the company.
More over-the-top (OTT) services would be added by Airtel in the near future, the company has promised. As stated by the firm, “Airtel is working with many additional over-the-top (OTT) companies to establish Airtel Xstream Premium as the go-to destination for digital entertainment in India.”
Its game-changing invention, Airtel Xstream Premium, will democratize online video content in India by alleviating the fundamental issues of content discovery, pricing, and delivery. The launch of Airtel Digital as a unified digital platform is a win-win proposition for customers and OTT providers alike as the company embarks on an exciting path to make digital entertainment mainstream in India, according to Adarsh Nair, CEO of Airtel Digital.
