According to VentureBeat, Microsoft is working on a new way to play Xbox games that doesn’t require a standard console. According to reports, the corporation is working on a TV-connected streaming stick. According to the report, gamers will be able to use a streaming device and a TV app starting in 2023.
Streaming devices and apps for smart TVs were initially introduced by the Redmond, Washington-based tech company in June of last year. According to rumour, the gadget and software are expected to be released only next year. Despite this, the corporation has not provided any updates on the project’s development.
Sources told VentureBeat that the gadget will resemble Amazon’s Fire TV stick and would let customers access Xbox Game Pass content via Xbox Cloud Gaming as well as streaming services for movies and TV shows. Streaming Xbox games to smart TVs without the need for additional gear is also being investigated by Microsoft and Samsung, according to the source.
