Qualcomm to launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC soon

Published:

At the company’s annual Snapdragon Tech Summit, which took place on December 1 of the previous year, Qualcomm presented the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Now, the business is rumoured to be planning to announce the launch of the next generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC two weeks before it would normally announce the launch of its new SoCs.

According to a source, the newly discovered material has surfaced as a result of the fact that the business inadvertently made the Snapdragon Summit event public on its website for a short period of time. The dates November 14-17 were observed to be mentioned for the event at one point.

Inadvertently, the semiconductor integrated circuit manufacturer Qualcomm had made the event listing for the Snapdragon Summit public on their website. The item was eventually removed, but not before GSMArena had discovered the planned event’s date and time.

According to the screenshot of the listing that was provided by the article, the Snapdragon Summit will take place between the 14th and the 17th of November this year. This is two weeks earlier than its typical date in December. During the event, the business is likely to reveal the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that it has been working on. Nevertheless, another part of the story stated that these dates might not be accurate because the corporation has not yet finalised the event timetable.

It is also important to note that the corporation has not yet announced the event dates, and it is extremely early for them to do so. According to the article, Qualcomm will typically publish the dates for its Snapdragon Summit, which will take place in Hawaii, around five months in advance. One Cortex-X3 core, two Cortex-A720 cores, two A710 cores, and three A510 cores are reported to be included in the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 system-on-chip (SoC), which is claimed to contain an uncommon CPU combination of 1+2+2+3.

On December 1 of last year, Qualcomm presented the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC to the public for the first time. It is speculated that the SoC would have an artificial intelligence capability that is up to four times quicker than that of the Snapdragon 888 SoC, which was introduced in 2020. It was stated that compared to the SoC of the previous generation, it would generate graphics 25 percent more efficiently while delivering 30 percent quicker performance.
