Windows 11 Build 25151 has been released to the Dev Channel and is said to address a wide variety of issues. Simultaneously, a previously hinted feature has been reinstated into the builds: a revamped ‘open dialogue’ for applications and files.
Although Windows 11 Build 25151 is not explicitly associated with any upcoming feature update, it is widely expected to be included in one within the next year. Given that development on Windows 11 23H2 is still in its infancy, no new features are currently planned. For instance, there is no mention of any significant changes in the official changelog for Build 25151.
A new open dialog is the feature available in the Windows 11 Build 25151. If you right-click on a file and select an application to open it with, a “Open with” dialogue box will display. The Open With dialogue box has not been changed since Windows 8, however in Windows 11 it has been modernised to conform to the operating system’s aesthetic standards.

The future Windows 11 dialogue box, as seen in the top picture, will include compatibility for both light and dark themes. The “Open with” menu will be dimmed if your device’s theme is set to nighttime. The Windows 11 theme options also allow you to revert to the previous light UI.
By making it possible to upgrade your default app with a single click, Microsoft has further streamlined the process.
This function isn’t accessible to all users and only appears on certain computers. Microsoft may roll out this improvement in a future cumulative update, however it is unclear if it will be available for Windows 11 22H2.
