Windows 11 Build 22621 and Build 22622 released by Microsoft

Published:

Microsoft’s simultaneous releases of Build 22621 and Build 22622

The key distinction between the two is that the newly added features are turned off by default in Build 22621 but are on in Build 22622. The latter is what Microsoft is giving with their enabling bundle. The goal is to gauge the effect of allowing the additional features based on feedback and use statistics from both groups after initially testing the procedure of having the features turned off by default. Consequently, it is possible to disable a problematic feature. In addition, this method will make it possible for the firm to temporarily remove a feature while associated issues are fixed.

Users who have installed Build 22621.xx have the option of manually checking for Windows Updates (KB5014959) and upgrading to Build 22622.xx in order to try out the newest changes. Users who have updated to Windows 11 Build 22622 may still be unable to use some new features as they are rolled out in stages.

The Beta Channel now has support for Suggested Actions, a OneDrive storage alert, and subscription management.

New with Build 25115, Suggested Actions are now accessible to users in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. However, it is possible to make it work in any country by switching the Country and Regional Format in the Settings menu. Users may now take actions in any app whenever they highlight (select) a date, time, or phone number. The new OneDrive storage alert and subscription management page in the Settings app was launched in Build 25145 and is available to users in the beta channel.

Microsoft’s Search Highlights feature is now available in Windows 10 and Windows 11. These goodies will most likely be released via the Windows 11 22H2 feature upgrade in the coming months.

Both the Windows client and server implementations of the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) support Transport Layer Security (TLS) version 1.3. The Remove-Item cmdlet has been upgraded to work with Microsoft OneDrive folders.

Opening the camera from a shared file dialogue should no longer cause the Take Photo button to vanish. The Group Policy for InternetExplorerModeEnableSavePageAs Group Policy has been activated in the Policy Editor. A patch has been released that fixes an issue that prevented devices from getting updates for an extension driver after installing it without the base driver. Known bugs in Windows 11 Build 22621 and Build 22622

Microsoft claims it is working on a patch for an issue that has caused cyclical crashes in the Windows UI components including Explorer.exe, and makes the screen flash. The firm has given a solution for this issue.

Launch PowerShell as an admin, paste the following command into the console, then click Enter.

Using the command: Add-AppxPackage -Register -Path C:WindowsSystemApps

Microsoft.UI.Xaml.CBS 8wekyb3d8bbwe\

When in development mode, use AppxManifest.xml to force the application to close.

User feedback suggests the problem only manifests itself after enabling File Explorer Tabs.
