Microsoft has introduced a new gaming subscription plan that is more affordable and allows you to share the Xbox Game Pass benefits up to four times.
Microsoft launches a new gaming subscription with the “Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family” marketing brand. The subscription is currently only available in Ireland and Colombia, so the company is still in its infancy.
The new subscription allows you to share Xbox Game Pass benefits up to 4 people (five people if you count the primary account owner), but this does not include family members and friends. The benefits can be shared with anyone, as long as they live in the same country.
According to the company, the “Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family” plan costs 49.900 COP in Colombia and 21.99 euros in Ireland. This price equates to approximately 5 Euros per person to access Xbox Game Pass Ultimate benefits. Usually, it costs 12.99 Euros per monthly.
Microsoft plans to expand the sharable program to other countries in the coming months. However, it doesn’t mention when the plan will be available in the United States or United Kingdom.
Existing Xbox Game Pass subscribers can switch to the Friends & Family plan. However, the conversion is not automatic.

- 30 days PC Game Pass equates to 12 days Friends & Family plan
- 30 days Live Gold translates into 12 days of Friends & Family.

The “Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family” subscription plan is almost identical to the “Xbox Game Pass Ultimate”, which gives everyone access to the same games, Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud), Xbox Live and PC versions. You can now share your benefits with others to make the service more affordable.
