Today’s Apple California Streaming event marked the official debut of the next-generation iPhone 13 series, which was previously announced. iPhone 13 is part of a new Apple smartphone series that also includes the smaller iPhone 13 mini, the larger iPhone 13 Pro, and the larger iPhone 13 Pro Max – all of which are based on the company’s previous iPhone 12 series.
Aside from the USB Type-C port, all of the new Apple iPhones have an OLED (Pro XDR) display, MagSafe compatibility, and speedier 5G networks. The Apple Al5 Bionic SoC is also included in the iPhone 13 variants, and as is customary, details on the RAM arrangement and battery size are still being kept under wraps.
As for the iPhone 13 series’ design, it keeps its flat-edged appearance, but it has shrunk the size of the notch on the front. A 5.4-inch display is included on the iPhone 13 small, while a 6.1-inch display is featured on the standard iPhone 13 model. On both the standard and small versions, the two back cameras are positioned diagonally to one another.
The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have screens that are 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively, in size. Particularly notable is the fact that the iPhone 13 Pro versions now include a 120Hz refresh rate, which Apple refers to as ProMotion Display. The standard iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 mini both come with a minimum storage capacity of 128GB. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, on the other hand, now have storage options of up to 11 GB.
The optics on both the normal iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 mini are the same, with two 12-megapixel cameras (wide and ultra-wide) on the back and a single 12-megapixel from the megapixel sensor on the front of the device. The Pro versions have three cameras on the back (telephoto, wide-angle, and ultra-wide-angle) as well as a Lidar sensor, which allows for a more immersive augmented reality experience. When the camera app is downloaded, it includes a cinematic mode that allows users to effortlessly adjust focus while shooting a video.
Some of the other prominent features are 25W fast charging (a charger is not included in the package), iOS 15 out of the box, IP 68 water, and dust resistance, ceramic shield screen protection, and more. The normal iPhone 13 has a beginning price of $799 (approximately Rs 58,800), while the iPhone 13 mini has a starting price of $699 mini (about Rs 51,500), both for the basic 128GB configuration. There’s also a new 512GB variant to choose from.
The base 128GB models of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are priced at $999 (about Rs 73,600) and $1,099 (approximately Rs 80,900), respectively, for the base variant of each device. On September 24, all of the models will be available for purchase. Pricing and availability information unique to India will be made available in the near future.
