Quick answer: The AMD Ryzen 7 8700G is still the best APU you can easily buy in India if you want a gaming PC without a graphics card. Its Radeon 780M graphics handle esports games like Valorant and CS2 at 1080p, and the 8-core CPU is strong for editing and daily work. The catch in November 2026 is RAM: DDR5 now costs about three times what it did when we first built this PC, so a full 8700G build costs around ₹65,000-85,000 today instead of about ₹56,000 in early 2025.
We built this PC for the video above in March 2025. This post updates the parts list and prices for November 2026 and keeps our original test results.

Parts List and Price (November 2026)
Prices below are what Indian retailers and price trackers showed in late October and early November 2026. Component prices are changing almost every week this year, so treat them as a guide.
| Part | Our pick | Price then (Mar 2025) | Price now (around) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 7 8700G (box cooler included) | ₹26,879 | ₹28,000-31,000 |
| Motherboard | MSI PRO A620M-E (or MSI PRO B650M-B) | ₹9,264 | ₹6,600-9,300 (B650M-B: ₹7,200-9,800) |

| Cabinet | Ant Esports ICE-100 series | ₹3,256 | ₹3,800-4,100 |
| Total | About ₹56,000 | About ₹65,000-85,000 |
Processor: Ryzen 7 8700G
This is the heart of the build. You get a proper 8-core desktop CPU and the strongest integrated graphics in AMD’s 8000G range, so you can start gaming today and add a graphics card later. A box cooler comes in the pack, which is fine for this 65W chip.
Motherboard: A620 or B650
The MSI PRO A620M-E is the cheapest way onto AM5 and is enough for an APU build. The MSI PRO B650M-B costs only a little more right now and has better power delivery and more upgrade room, so it is the smarter buy if you plan to drop in a faster CPU or a GPU later. Make sure the board has a recent BIOS for 8000G support (most stock does now).
RAM: the expensive part in 2026
Memory makers have moved factory capacity to high-bandwidth memory for AI servers, and consumer DDR5 prices have shot up worldwide. The 16GB kit that cost about ₹5,900 when we built this PC now costs around ₹18,000 or more, and some stores list 16GB above ₹27,000. A 32GB (2x16GB) kit is around ₹32,000-48,000 at most stores.
Two tips for an APU build:
- Always buy two sticks (dual channel). The Radeon 780M has no memory of its own and uses system RAM, so a single stick cuts gaming performance badly.
- 16GB is the realistic minimum. Part of it is used as video memory, so 32GB is nicer, but at today’s prices most budget buyers should start with 16GB and upgrade when prices cool.
Storage
SSD prices have also roughly doubled over the past year. A 500GB NVMe drive keeps the cost down. If you play big games, a 1TB Gen4 drive is worth it, but expect to pay around ₹15,000-22,000.
Power supply and cabinet
An APU-only system draws little power, so 650W is more than you need today. We still suggest a good 650W Bronze unit like the DeepCool PL650D because it will also run a mid-range graphics card later. The PSU is one of the few parts that is cheaper now than in 2025. For the cabinet, any airflow mid-tower around ₹4,000 works; we used an Ant Esports ICE-100 model.
Our Test Results (from the original build)
These are from our March 2025 testing of this build, shown in the video.
Editing and daily work
- Adobe Premiere Pro: handled 1080p and light 4K editing well.
- Photoshop: smooth, even with large files and many layers.
- Blender: fine for basic 3D work; CPU rendering recommended.
Gaming on the Radeon 780M (no graphics card, 1080p medium)
| Game | FPS |
|---|---|
| Valorant | 120-140 |
| CS2 | 80-100 |
| GTA V | 50-60 |
| Fortnite | 60-75 |
| Cyberpunk 2077 (low) | 30-40 |
With a graphics card added (1080p high)
| Game | With RTX 4060 | With RX 6600 |
|---|---|---|
| Cyberpunk 2077 | 75-90 FPS | 65-80 FPS |
| Hogwarts Legacy | 70-85 FPS | – |
| Forza Horizon 5 | 100+ FPS | – |
| God of War | – | 80-100 FPS |
| Apex Legends | – | 120+ FPS |
Esports and older games run very well on the APU alone. For new AAA games you will want a graphics card. The RTX 4060 and RX 6600 are now old; if you are adding a card today, see our best GPU for gaming in India (November 2026) guide for current picks.
Should You Buy the 8700G in November 2026?
Yes, if you want one PC for study, office work, editing and esports gaming, and you plan to add a graphics card when GPU prices settle. It avoids paying today’s inflated graphics card prices on day one.
Look at other options if:
- Your budget is tight. The Ryzen 5 8600G (6 cores, Radeon 760M) is roughly 10% slower and cheaper. For the lowest cost, the older AM4 Ryzen 5 5500GT is another route, though its graphics are much weaker.
- You want the newest APU. AMD announced desktop Ryzen AI 400 chips (such as the Ryzen AI 7 450G with Radeon 860M) for AM5 in 2026. We could not find reliable Indian retail prices or stock for them yet, so the 8700G remains the practical choice you can buy today.
- You mainly play heavy AAA games. Then a cheaper CPU plus a graphics card gives more FPS for the money.
Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Strongest integrated graphics you can easily buy | DDR5 RAM is very expensive in 2026 |
| 8 cores, good for editing and multitasking | Only PCIe 4.0 and fewer lanes than non-G Ryzen chips |
| Low 65W power, box cooler included | Not enough for new AAA games at high settings |
| AM5 platform: easy CPU and GPU upgrades later | Newer Ryzen AI 400 APUs exist abroad |
Verdict
The Ryzen 7 8700G is still a great way to build a gaming-capable PC without buying a graphics card. Our test results show it plays esports games smoothly at 1080p and handles editing work well. What has changed is the cost of RAM and storage, which pushes the full build to around ₹65,000-85,000. If you can live with 16GB and a 500GB SSD for now, this build gives you a strong base that you can upgrade later. FAQs
Can the Ryzen 7 8700G run games without a graphics card?
Yes. In our testing it ran Valorant at 120-140 FPS and CS2 at 80-100 FPS at 1080p medium. Heavy games like Cyberpunk 2077 need low settings and run around 30-40 FPS.
What is the Ryzen 7 8700G price in India now?
Around ₹28,000-31,000 at most Indian stores in November 2026. Prices on Amazon and Flipkart change often, so compare a few sellers.
How much RAM does the 8700G need?
Use at least 16GB as two sticks (dual channel). The integrated graphics share system memory, so dual channel makes a big difference to gaming performance.
Does the 8700G come with a cooler?
Yes, it ships with an AMD box cooler, which is enough for its 65W TDP.
Which motherboard is best for the 8700G?
An A620 board like the MSI PRO A620M-E is the cheapest option. A B650 board like the MSI PRO B650M-B costs a little more and is better for future upgrades.
Why is building a PC so expensive in 2026?
Memory and storage makers are prioritising AI data-centre chips, so DDR5 RAM, SSDs and graphics cards have all become much more expensive this year.
