WhatsApp, the Meta-owned short messaging program that is used by more than 2 billion people globally, is continuously being updated and adding new features to its repertoire.
The WhatsApp Messenger beta for iOS has received an upgrade, version 2.22.1.1, which is now available. This new update has hidden references to the creation of Communities, which will be addressed in a future update.
Working on a feature known as Communities, WhatsApp had been in development since 2014. This feature enhances WhatsApp’s group feature, which allows group administrators to exert greater control over other WhatsApp groups. The administrator of a WhatsApp Community is supposed to have greater power than the administrator of a WhatsApp Group.
In this screenshot, it can be seen that Administrators will have the ability to start a Community chat. Despite the fact that the community feature appears to be comparable to group chat at the present, it is still a private space between users that is protected by end-to-end encryption.
Aside from that, when users join a community, they will be unable to access groups that have been unlinked from the community by a group administrator. In addition, when users leave a community, they will no longer be able to browse any connected groups that are associated with the community.
Administrators now have the ability to possess and do a wide range of additional tasks thanks to new control options. It will also be made available on both Android and iOS devices.
WhatsApp’s new Communities feature may help the company compete more effectively with other messaging apps such as Telegram, which offer a slew of capabilities of their own. Telegram, for example, has channels and groups with more than 200,000 members and continues to grow.
The WhatsApp messaging software is adding a feature that will allow users to search for nearby companies straight within the app, as part of a significant push into e-commerce and commercial operations, according to recent news.
According to WABetaInfo, a new feature will be added to the search menu called “Businesses Nearby,” which will allow users to search for nearby restaurants, groceries, clothes and clothing stores, and other businesses. Users will soon be able to search for items such as hotels, restaurants, groceries, and clothing without having to leave the application. Users of both iOS and Android devices will be able to take advantage of this valuable service.
