New iOS 16 software might deliver Apple’s long-awaited Always-On Display (AoD) feature, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Samsung, OnePlus, and several companies already provide the latter. Animated widgets and other items may be added using this capability.
In order to keep the screen on for a full 24 hours, you’ll need a lot more battery capacity. A 120Hz variable refresh rate is expected to be available on the iPhone 14 Pro models, and the new models will apparently be able to vary the refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz, which will help conserve some energy. When the AoD function is activated, the refresh rate will automatically be reduced to 1Hz.
