Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, recently met with Twitter staff for the first time since his hostile takeover proposal. Musk discussed the direction of the firm going forward. Layoffs, expansion, parallels to Chinese app culture, content regulation, and other issues were all alluded at. Over an hour passed during Musk’s discussion with the staff. The workers had posed a series of queries to Musk concerning the company’s future.
Ever since he chose to take over the firm, Musk has been quite critical of Twitter and its regulations. The CEO of Twitter, Parag Agrawal, and the head of law, Vijay Gadde, were the targets of his subtle jabs. At a recent staff meeting, though, Musk raised expectations for the firm to new heights. He has expressed a desire for the firm to attract more than one million users of its microblogging platform. Musk has stated a desire to make the functions available to one billion people. It’s about four times as many as the present user base. In the first three months of 2022, Twitter gained 229 million MAUs (monthly active users).
Musk, though, has maintained that consumers should be given complete freedom to help the company reach its goals. He said that the platform should not be used to give more voice to the inappropriate comments that certain individuals could post. He also emphasised the importance of individuals having complete control over what they see on Twitter. Musk has also said that inviting every human being to join Twitter would be the most inclusive action anyone could take there.

Multiple times, Musk has brought up the topic of free expression. He has even gone so far as to say he wants to buy Twitter in order to make it available for no cost. He has spoken out against the previous president’s decision to shut down the site. Musk even extended an invitation for Trump to return to Twitter, but Trump respectfully declined, stating he is content with Truth Social, his own site, which reportedly has more members.
Musk has also suggested layoffs might be in the works for the business. It would depend on the country’s financial circumstances, he stated, but he did not use the phrase “layoff” in the discussion. “It Depends.” According to the insider, Musk acknowledged that “the firm does need to become healthy.” Currently, “Expenses are more than income.” Anyone who “contributes significantly” to the meaning of anything “should not be concerned,” he continued.
