On the occasion of his 51st birthday, Elon Musk Twitter followers surpassed 100,000,000. The billionaire hit the mark just as he was contemplating whether or not to acquire Twitter in the coming months.
Musk made a bid to purchase Twitter not so long ago, but the transaction has not yet been finalised. The CEO of Tesla has stated that he is waiting to move through with the agreement unless Twitter provides information on spam bots. In one of its most recent reports, Twitter revealed that 5 percent of its user base was composed of automated software during the previous quarter. Still, Musk claims that the platform is home to at least 20% bots.

If everything goes as planned, Musk will purchase Twitter before the year is over. Recently, he held a video conference with Twitter staff to discuss the merger, layoffs, and telecommuting. On the conference call, he dropped hints about potential layoffs at Twitter.
In a recent statement, the billionaire demanded that all Tesla workers either report to work or resign. He also emphasised the need of working a full 40 hours per week. Billionaire Musk reportedly told staff in an email, “anyone who desires to conduct remote work must be in the office for a least (and I emphasise *minimum*) of 40 hours per week or exit Tesla.” It “must be a primary Tesla office, not a remote branch office unrelated to the job tasks,” Musk emphasised.
But Twitter has a somewhat different strategy. The Twitter mogul added that remote workers who are “exceptional at their job” can keep doing so during a call with staff. Musk elaborated that he likes an in-office environment and would check with supervisors to see whether remote workers were making a beneficial impact.
Musk responded to a query about returning to the office by saying, “If someone can only work remotely and they’re excellent, it wouldn’t make sense to terminate them.”
