The Material You makeover in Gmail for Web, the Gmail-only view, and the ‘Storage utilised’ indication for Gmail on Android and iOS are just a few of the upcoming design updates. As part of its Material You revamp, Google is making Gmail for the Web’s default backdrop a bluish grey instead of white. Users now have more control over which applications appear in their new view thanks to the redesign’s provision for a Gmail-only interface.

Gmail, Google’s web-based email service, is undergoing a major redesign. Redesigning Gmail for the Web with Material Design in mind. Gmail’s familiar white backdrop will soon be replaced with over 50 colours of light blue (get it?). Now, on a more sombre note, we should expect to see a gradient of lighter blues, with deeper blues for the left navigation menu, blue for read emails, and white for unread ones.
The American technology firm has also released a web interface that is exclusive to Gmail. Quick settings now allow Gmail, Chat, and Meet users to select which applications they want to appear in their redesigned interface. They can also opt for a Gmail-only setup, if they like. While some users will be automatically switched to the new Gmail look, everyone will have the option to return to the older style of the email service.
Gmail for Android and iOS users will soon get a new’storage used’ indication, making it simpler to monitor and control their data usage across all of their Google accounts. If you use the Gmail mobile app on your phone, you can access the Storage utilised function by hitting the account switcher button in the upper right. You may view the specifics of your storage use under the “Manage your Google Account” section. Clouds in Google’s four colours are displayed to the left of the option’s text, which details your current storage usage in relation to your total storage space and the proportion of your subscription you’ve used.
