As reported by some media agencies, Google is integrating heart rate and respiration tracking features to the Pixel 6 through the Google Fit app. These capabilities have been accessible on the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a for some time, and now it appears like Pixel 6 owners will be able to take advantage of them as well.
It is reported to have completed the “early access” phase, indicating that a large deployment is now underway. Separately, a small number of Pixel 6 customers have reported that the Magic Eraser function has been removed following the newest Google Photos update. Once again, this appears to have only affected a small number of customers, as the update distribution has been halted.
Google has announced that the Google Pixel 6 will now include heart rate and respiratory tracking capabilities, which will be accessible through the Google Fit app. The heart rate and respiration rate are measured by the app, which makes use of the phone’s camera.
According to reports, Google advises that this function is “not intended for medical use” and that it is “still being fine-tuned and may be deleted in the future.” According to the source, when the heart rate tracking feature was tested, the results were accurate and matched those obtained by using a Fitbit tracker and a Pixel 5 in a “well-lit environment.” In a darker environment, the reading, on the other hand, was around 30 beats per minute off.
Users of the Google Fit app for the Pixel 6 may see if they have gotten the feature by navigating to Browse > Vitals in the app. The two cards will appear at the bottom of the Home tab, as seen in the image below.
In addition, some Pixel 6 users have reported that the Magic Eraser feature has been deleted from the Google Photos app as a result of the most recent Google Photos app update.
Users may use this tool to eliminate undesired things from photographs. According to Android Central, the Google Photos app version 5.67 has deleted the handy function for a number of Pixel 6 owners, who have complained about it.
According to reports, the release of this update has been halted, and individuals who have not updated their Google Photos app may still utilize the Magic Eraser function on their Pixel 6.
“We noticed an issue early in the distribution of [its] newest Photos upgrade,” said Google spokesperson Alex Moriconi, according to The Verge. “We are working on a remedy right now.”
