Instagram just added a new feature that enables producers to charge for premium, restricted content. The firm is now giving additional options for creators to communicate with users on the platform. After testing certain features in January this year, the Meta-owned startup is now rolling out Subscriber Chats, Subscriber Reels, Subscriber Posts, and Subscriber Home. Subscription Stories were previously restricted to profiles with a unique badge. They may even provide Subscriber Lives if they want.
According to a blog post published by Meta, Instagram Subscriptions for creators are now available nationwide. There is currently no information available on when this model will be made available to designers in India and other countries. As the business also made clear, Meta would not charge for Subscriptions until the year 2024.

Instagram Subscribe Chats
As the name indicates, the function will allow fans to engage with their favourite authors. Up to 30 users can join the chat at once to talk about whatever they choose. From your email or your story, you may start a Subscriber chat enabled by Messenger, and it will conclude on its own after 24 hours.
Subscribers can join talks from a new “join chat”, tied to an article.
It looks that Instagram DM is also receiving a separate tab to allow authors to manage talks and the inbox.
Posts and Reels are the next step for creators after Subscriber Stories. There will be a “exclusive” label or emblem attached to these. Similarly, there is a new section of the profile dedicated to private updates. It is not yet known if the new tab will allow creators to “pin” posts.
“We’ve also added a subscription story sticker and promo reels to encourage followers to subscribe and an easy method to give subscribers a personalised welcome when they join using welcome reels,” Instagram says.
