Gaming laptops sporting up to the RTX 4090 are due to launch in the near future.
Nvidia has revealed that its most recent RTX 40 series graphics cards will be available in gaming laptops in February. The most powerful model is an RTX 4090, but it is a step down the chain until the 4050 RTX.
However, don’t be expecting the performance of laptop GPUs to match the desktop versions. But, they appear to come with all their unique features which includes DLSS 3, which brings frame generation to improve performance, as well as faster than ever Ray Tracing.
In terms of which laptops will be receiving an RTX 40 series upgrade, Nvidia mentions its partners such as Alienware’s latest X16, Dell, Acer, Gigabyte, MSI, Samsung, Lenovo, and Razer in a variety of forms such as studio machines with thinner frames as well as 14-inch notebooks. We suggest visiting our website later in the day and during the week to witness the cloak fall off of some of the models Nvidia has been hinting at.
While the RTX4070 isn’t the most powerful mobile GPU from Nvidia however, it has an impressive set of capabilities. Nvidia stated on the CES stream that the RTX 4070 offers RTX 3080 performance while using only one-third of the power. The 40-series chips use low-voltage GDDR6 memory that allows for what could be described as rapid performance, without consuming tons of energy. With less power, battery life could increase.
With the speedier RTX 4090 and 4080 models, Nvidia states that laptops are able to display a 4K-resolution image to up to three displays simultaneously, with 60 frames per second (game-dependent I’m thinking) as well as that it can provide two times the speed of video exports than earlier generations of graphics processors.
