Microsoft account is mandatory on Windows 11 now

Beginning with Windows 11 22H2, establishing a connection to the internet and signing into a Microsoft account are both prerequisites for setting up a new device. Previously, a Microsoft account was necessary for installing Windows 11 on any device other than a PC running Windows 11 Home. In the future, a sign-in to a Microsoft account will be required in order to set up devices with either Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro.

In other words, setting up a Windows 11 installation running Home or Pro will be more of a burden since you will be required to input the credentials before you can even boot to the desktop. This step is required before the computer can even start up. During the setup screen itself, sometimes known as the OOBE, the login is necessary. According to Microsoft, users would likewise require access to the internet in order to complete the first setup.

Microsoft is currently doing testing on a variety of new features that will be included in Windows 11, as well as upgrades and modifications to the OOBE. According to authorities from Microsoft, this modification is scheduled to be included in the Windows 11 version 22H2 (fall 2022 update) when it is released.

In the past, Microsoft gave users the option to perform the first setup either offline or online, giving them the flexibility to create a local user account if desired. You can still input a bogus email address and get around the requirement to sign in, but there is a new workaround that will let you avoid having to sign in at all.

You may now download and install Windows 11 using the dependable Windows Rufus tool without having to first create a Microsoft account. With Rufus version 3.19, it is possible to avoid the prerequisites for Windows 11 and the sign-in process for a Microsoft account.

The version is now in the beta testing phase, and it will be completely ready by the time the autumn 2022 update for Windows 11 arrives. It appears that a Microsoft account will continue to be required throughout the installation process for Windows 10 Home and Pro for the time being. Even the Enterprise edition of Windows 11 will continue to enable local accounts by default.

The current goal for Microsoft is to publish Windows 11 version 22H2 in the fall, probably around the month of October as the firm aims to finish drivers by the end of September. This is according to reports that have been released.
