Netflix is getting ready to provide support for spatial audio for all of its original web series and TV episodes that it produces. A number of shows, including Stranger Things, will be among the first to have support for spatial audio. Users will be able to locate content that supports spatial audio by simply typing “spatial audio” into the search field that is provided. Beginning today, the newly added functionality will be made available to all of the users. Netflix has not revealed whether or not the rollout would just be available to users in the United States of America.
Netflix already delivers a superb watching experience because it supports 4K, HDR, Dolby Atmos, and Netflix Calibrated Mode. Users will be able to have an experience similar to that of a movie theatre in their own homes thanks to Netflix’s support for spatial audio.

It is not necessary to have surround sound speakers in order to enjoy spatial audio; rather, the function will be activated for you automatically whenever you view a suitable TV show or movie that uses stereo audio. However, in order to enjoy spatial audio, it is advised that you watch television episodes and movies that are presented in 5.1 surround sound or Dolby Atmos if you have to surround sound speakers in your home. Apple’s spatial audio is supported by Netflix on Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad devices. This allows for an enhanced 5.1 surround sound experience as well as a Dolby Atmos audio immersive surround sound experience.
