Did you know that Facebook employees who work on-site were entitled to free laundry? While you may be hearing about this benefit for the first time, the corporation has already made the decision to reduce the number of expensive on-site benefits available. Meta, the corporation that owns Facebook, sent an email to its employees informing them that it will be eliminating several benefits such as free laundry, valet service, and dry cleaning in the near future. To top it all off, the complimentary supper would now be provided to staff later in the evenings in the future.
According to a story in the New York Times, Meta would no longer give the luxurious incentives that it previously provided to on-site personnel. Free laundry, dry cleaning, valet service, and other amenities are among the rewards. In addition, the corporation said that it will move the free dinner hour to 6:30 p.m. from its previous schedule of 5:30 p.m. Previously, a complimentary meal was served at 6 p.m. every night. A total of seven firm workers, all of whom requested anonymity in order to speak with the newspaper, revealed inside knowledge to the journal.
After returning to the office, we’ve made changes to the on-site services and facilities to better meet the demands of our hybrid workforce.” The company’s representative stated, “We anticipate that individuals and teams will become increasingly spread in the future, and we’re dedicated to creating an experience that helps everyone be successful.”
Because of the revised meal times, only a small number of individuals will be able to take advantage of the free supper because the final shuttle leaves the office at 6 p.m. As a result, employees will now have to choose between a free meal and a free trip back to their workplaces.
Employees at Meta are anticipated to return to work on March 28 as scheduled. Before they begin working from home, it is expected that the employees would receive a booster shot. Some Meta workers may be able to request to work from home on a permanent basis. In a statement, Janelle Gale, Meta’s vice president of human resources, said, “We recognize that the prolonged uncertainty makes this a tough time to make decisions about where to work, so we’re giving them more time to select what works best for them.” Meta has previously postponed many return-to-office plans owing to the introduction of new Covid variations, but now that the number of covid-19 cases has decreased, the business wants to summon its staff back to the office.
