NVIDIA at CES 2023 launched the high end RTX 40 series for gaming laptops with its latest technology, which NVIDIA calls Ada Lovelace architecture. As NVIDIA is already a partner of major brands, so gaming enthusiasts should expect latest RTX 40 series will be compatible with the major gaming laptops in the market and upcoming ones as well.
Gaming laptops with the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, 4080, RTX 4070, 4060, and 4050 laptop GPUs are already have been launched by the major laptop manufacturers. And most of them will be available from February 2023. The base price for the latest NVIDIA graphics card is $999, but one should expect a decline in prices or expect they go on sale on special holidays or events. NVIDIA claims that, and only gaming enthusiasts will prove this, the RTX 4090 is the world’s fastest laptop GPU. One this is certain, these latest graphics cards are power efficient than their predecessor.
NVIDIA shared the benchmarks at the launch of new graphic cards at CES 2023, claiming that games like Play A Plague Tale: Requiem, Microsoft Flight Simulator, F1 22, and Loopmancer will deliver over 100fps on a laptop with RTX 4090 GPU on max settings. Also, NVIDIA claims that its latest graphics cards also enhance the frame rate experience of older generation games. The new GPUs also come with dual AV1 encoders, which will reduce the video export time by half.
Graphics cards by AMD at CES 2023
Ryzen 9 7900, Ryzen 7 7700, and Ryzen 5 7600 Series processors are AMD’s latest graphics cards that are additions to Ryzen 7000 Series desktop processors aimed at delivering better gaming performance at lower power consumption. Ryzen’s new graphics cards are optimized for performance and efficiency, built on the AMD’s Zen 4 architecture.
New Ryzen 7045HX Series graphics cards are included in AMD’s 7000 Series Mobile processors which will improve gaming experiences on mobile devices. AMD also previewed the 7040 Series processors, the first AMD CPU with a dedicated AI engine in an X86 processor, transforming laptop computing with powerful new capabilities for video collaboration, productivity and gaming.
AMD claims that its latest cards will change the way how games are played on next-generation gaming laptops. As per AMD, AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series Graphics are also available based on AMD’s high-performance, energy-efficient RDNA 3 architecture.
The graphics cards to choose from
Considering that the latest GPUs are readily available again, you can be more selective about your choice. You will have more choices across different price ranges so you must decide how much you are willing to spend.
You should also take your GPU needs into account. You shouldn’t settle for what you can afford right now if it can’t handle your daily needs. If you can’t afford the right GPU, it’s better to put it off for a while and save up.
The best solution for ray tracing is still Nvidia, but AMD is definitely upping its game in order to compete. If you’re into VR gaming, you should also make sure that it supports VR.
