Twitter is rolling out Tips, which is a tipping feature, to everyone with more payment options

At its product event, which took place on Thursday, Twitter revealed a host of new features. The micro-blogging site said that it is expanding the availability of Tips, which is a tipping function, to everyone, and that there will be additional payment choices available, including cryptocurrencies.

Users of Twitter may tip their favorite accounts on the microblogging site, assist a small business owner through a tough period, or donate to a worthwhile charity by using Tips. Tipping on Twitter has become easier, and there are now more payment alternatives available.

“Our tipping tool, now called Tips, is rolling out to everyone with new payment methods to select from, including cryptocurrency,” Esther Crawford, Product Manager at Twitter, said in a statement announcing the function.
Tipping your favorite Twitter account because you enjoy their commentary, sending some love to an emerging comedy creator for their hilarious Tweets, assisting a small business owner through a difficult time, making a charitable donation to a worthy cause — whatever you want to support (and we know you already have some ideas), Tips is the platform to help you do it. She stated that Tips will initially be made available to iOS users, with Android users the following suit in a few weeks.
Influencers and persons with a big following base will be able to put a Tips symbol next to the Follow button on their Twitter profile page, according to the company. If you want to tip someone, all you have to do is touch on the tip icon, and a selection of payment services or platforms that have been enabled for the account will appear, from which you may choose whichever one you like. Users in the United States are now being introduced to the functionality.

As a result, GoFundMe and PicPay, Bandcamp, Cash App, Chipper, Patreon, Razorpay, Wealthsimple Cash, and Venmo have all been added as new payments methods by Square.
When you select one of the services listed above, you will be directed to the app for that provider, where you may transfer money. It is crucial to remember that Twitter does not deduct any fees or commissions from any payments you make or receive over the platform.

Twitter users may also tip using Bitcoin, thanks to Strike, a payments application built on the Bitcoin Lightning Network that allows individuals to send and receive Bitcoin. People in El Salvador and the United States are presently benefiting from the Strike services.

People who want to receive payments directly from you can include their Bitcoin address in their profile, which allows other people to copy your address and paste it into their preferred Bitcoin wallet to give you a payment. Tipping is only permitted for individuals who are over the age of eighteen (18).
