WhatsApp has announced that it will roll out five important features this year.

Currently, WhatsApp has the world’s largest user population. Over 400 million people use WhatsApp in India alone. For an organization with a vast user base, it is critical to include features that improve user experience. WhatsApp has stated that it plans to introduce five new features this year, all of which are geared toward improving the user experience. In addition, WhatsApp is frequently caught testing features that don’t make it into the final release, but beta testers are a testament to the fact that a lot of functionality will be available to customers in the near future. ‘
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of messaging service Meta, made a public announcement regarding WhatsApp’s planned features a few days ago. “Our messaging services are designed around one-to-one text messaging — and that will be at the core of what we do,” he stated. We’ve also been working on the next generation of private messaging, which is currently under development. We’ve introduced video chats, voice messaging, stories, commerce, payments, and more to WhatsApp and Messenger with an emphasis on privacy, safety, and security. As of today’s debut, we’re making it possible for individuals to interact with not just their closest friends and acquaintances, but also with the many groups in their life.”

The following is a list of WhatsApp’s upcoming 2020 features.

Communities on WhatsApp

Using communities, users will be able to bring together a variety of different organizations.

People will be able to quickly create smaller discussion groups on topics that are important to them if a large number of groups with similar interests are brought together.

Special privileges will be granted to administrators of the Communities, such as the ability to send out mass announcements to the whole community and the ability to choose which groups are included. A School Principal can use Communities to bring all of the school’s parents together to exchange important information and organize groups for certain subjects, extracurricular activities, or volunteer needs. The functionality is now being tested by WhatsApp and will be released in the near future.

Files up to 2GB can now be shared between WhatsApp users.

Users have been clamoring for this functionality since the dawn of time. WhatsApp beta-tested the functionality in Argentina with a small group of users. WhatsApp has announced that it would be launching globally. Currently, WhatsApp users may transmit files of up to 100MB to their contacts.

32 people can participate in audio calls using WhatsApp.

Users will soon be able to make audio calls with up to 32 other people on WhatsApp. The number of people to whom a user may now conduct audio calls is eight. The audio calling function, on the other hand, is about to undergo a transformation before the end of the year.

Administrators of WhatsApp groups will have more authority in the future.

In the near future, Whatsapp will provide group administrators with additional control over their groups. Messages that are inappropriate for the group can be deleted by group moderators.

WhatsApp’s emoji reactions

Emojis will soon be a part of the WhatsApp experience. You won’t have to type a response to every message anymore. Emojis can also be used to do this.
