Need to hide your internet activity from your supervisor while at work? In the near future, WhatsApp may allow you to conceal your online status from certain contacts. According to rumours, WhatsApp will soon introduce a feature that will allow users to choose who may view their online status. This would be a crucial function, especially if you do not want specific persons in your lists to see your ‘online’ status. In addition, WhatsApp is increasing the maximum amount of time that may pass before a message is permanently deleted for those who are using the beta version.
As reported by Wabetainfo, WhatsApp will soon allow its users to control who may view their online status. Until the feature is finished being developed, it will not be made available to beta testers. “ Two new choices, “Everyone” and “Same as Last Seen,” will be available in the last seen settings, allowing us to choose who may see when we are online. For example, if you pick “My contacts” for “Last Seen” and “Same as Last Seen” for “online”, that implies non-contacts won’t be able to see when you’re online.

They can now choose which contacts receive their last seen and status updates using a new feature introduced by WhatsApp. Previously, users did not have the option of concealing their last saw and status updates from certain persons. All users, my contacts, and nobody were the only available choices. Additionally, there is now a “My Contacts except” toggle for users to toggle.
You may make your last seen, profile photo, about, and status visible to all WhatsApp users by selecting the “Everyone” option before you publish. If you choose ‘My Contacts,’ just the people in your address book will be able to view your last seen, profile photo, about, and status updates. In the same way, if you choose “My Contacts Except..,” your last seen, profile photo, about, and status will be visible to everyone in your address book except for the people you choose, and if you choose “Nobody,” none of this information will be shown to anybody.
To further safeguard your privacy when using WhatsApp, the company has added additional features to the app’s privacy settings, as announced on Twitter. You may now choose which contacts in your address book can view your profile picture, bio, and last seen time. Previously, users did not have the option of concealing their last saw and status updates from certain persons. All users, my contacts, and nobody were the only available choices. There is now a new “My Contacts except” option available to users.
