Xiaomi has increased its product range to include mini-PCs. Although the Xiaomi Mini Host uses a similar laptop processor to other mini-PCs, it offers more ports than modern laptops. The Xiaomi Mini Host is also small in size at 0.44 litres.
The Mini Host is a mini-PC that Xiaomi has introduced. It’s powered by a processor typically found in ultrabooks. The Mini Host from Xiaomi is expected to be faster than other mini-PCs. Referring to the table, the Xiaomi Mini Host is 437g in weight and measures 112x112x38 mm. This corresponds to 0.44 litres of case volume.
The Core i5-1240P is at the heart of Xiaomi’s first mini-PC. It’s a 28W and 12-core processor from Intel’s Alder Lake–P series. The Core i5-1240P is one of the weakest Alder Lake P processors. It has 4 performance cores as well as 8 efficiency cores. 16 threads are also included. Additionally, it contains an Iris Xe Graphics G7 iGPU with 80 Execution Units. The Xiaomi Mini Host also has 512 GB PCIe 4.0 storage, 16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM and an Iris Xe Graphics G7 iGPU that contains 80 Execution Units (EUs). This is despite the Core i5-1240P being faster DDR5 RAM.
Two Thunderbolt 4 ports and Bluetooth 5.3 are also included. The Mini Host is equipped with a 2.5Gbit Ethernet port, three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports and two HDMI 2.1 ports. It is important to note that these ports have an 18 Gbps bandwidth and not 48 Gbps as regular HDMI 2.1 ports. The Xiaomi Mini Host is therefore dependent on HDMI 2.0 ports that companies can market under the HDMI2.1 standard.
The Mini Host has been announced by Xiaomi in China so far. Xiaomi has yet to confirm whether the Mini Host will be released globally, as it did with the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 Pro. The Mini Host will be available for purchase starting at CNY 399 (US$532) during the pre-sale period. It will go up to CNY 3999 (US$575) after that period ends on December 25,
